The Eccles wheelchair accessible hotel in Glengarriff, West Cork

27 February 2010 327 views One Comment

This walkthru was filmed in the Glengarriff Eccles Hotel, Glengarriff, Co. Cork in May 2009. The hotel building is one of the oldest in Ireland, but the owners have installed

  • an entrance ramp,
  • one hotel room suitable for people with disabilities,
  • a ground floor public toilet for people with disabilities
  • a stairlift lift to access the restaurant, lounge and function rooms

A rollthru of these facilities is in the video below

Other observations: the Bar is split level, but the end with the fireplace is accessible. There is a lift to the floors above the lobby (in the main building, but the corridors off the main building have split levels. The staff are friendly and trained to operate the stairlift.
